Certificate in Accountability in Human Action

    Course Overview

Humanitarian actions should be guided by principles of humanity, the centrality of saving human lives and alleviating suffering wherever it is found, impartiality, neutrality, and independence. The most fundamental objective of any humanitarian action is to save lives, alleviate suffering and maintain human dignity during and in the aftermath of man-made crises and natural disasters, as well as to prevent and strengthen preparedness for the occurrence of such situations.

In handling the fore-mentioned it is important that the personnel deployed in any humanitarian context handles self in a way that will not jeopardize the services offered or the image of the organization that one is working for. This course will empower students with skills to respond to various external relationships that enable humanitarian agencies to operate successfully in a competitive and often hostile environment.
